But lately, there has been a significant uptick in the amount of spam messages in your Direct Messages (DM).

Wording to the effect of:

• Guest4598: Dear Admin, your page is about to expire

• User9831: Warning, take action or your page will be deleted

• Person3398: Refund required: My product was not received

Dealing with a regular number of spam messages is a common headache for page admins and goes with the territory. But some accounts are seeing upwards of 20 messages a day PER ACCOUNT. When you factor in many Social Media Mangers look after multiple accounts, the amount of garbage notifications is insufferable.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Open your Facebook business page

2. Select Meta Business Suite on the right-hand column

3. Select Inbox

4. Click ‘Chat Plugin’

5. Expand ‘Customise Your Chat Plugin’

6. Disable ‘Guest Chat’ – This only allows people signed into Facebook are able to message your business.
